The image of beauty has changed from era to era. In the late 1990's it was desired to be stick thin, long and lean. But, the 2000's brought about a new appreciation for a more curvaceous, voluptuous woman. A small waist, topped off with wide hips and a big booty is what is now looked at as having the ideal shape. Having the "Video Vixen" look, like Toronto video girl, Melyssa Ford is one that is highly favored and the image of sexiness. Within, the entertainment industry there has been more and more speculation on body enhancements. Hip Hop artist, Nikki Minaj is the most recent example of skepticism, due to her large assets. Nikki has been accused of having butt injections done as well as wearing butt pads. Nikki, of course denies any allegation of having surgeries. But, what celebrity admits to that. Even those who have had the most extreme procedures done, like Michael Jackson, have denied it. Also rapper Ice T's wife, Coco has also been accused of having surgeries, which she also denies. Kim Kardashian, who is famous for her curves, denies the accusations of surgeries as well. Apparently, her first husband has made statements on record that she has done surgeries that he paid for. These woman rely on their self image as a marketing tool, whether they are doing eye candy modeling or performing, a sexual image sells in the entertainment industry. Women in society now have a need to exhibit the same image, and now there are a lot of procedures and products available that promote different methods which help enhance your body in the form of pills, surgical procedures, injections, creams and implants. In Brazil, there has been numerous cases of badly done surgeries, which end up scarring customers for life because they offer surgical procedures for less, but the price of going cheap has hurt a lot of people. There are many butt enhancing pills, now available like BBB formula and Femimore. These pills, claim to enhance your curves as a spot treatment allowing you to gain weight in specific areas of the body. How effective are these pills? who knows but, the cost is ranging between $100 - $220 per bottle and results are not expected until at least 12 months on the program. That definitely is costly. There is also silicone injections, which is not a particularly safe method and can also be costly. Women should embrace the body they have been created with. There is nothing wrong with self improving yourself if that will make you happy but, feeling less beautiful because you don't look like the girl on a magazine is not the way to go. There are many ways that you can naturally build muscle and contour your shape by changing your diet and doing the right exercises.

Over the last couple years we've started to hear more and more about the so called "Open Relationship", which is described by couples as an "openness" with your husband/wife or girlfriend/boyfriend, which allows your partner the option to look outside your relationship for intimacy as long as there is "Open" communication. This view is completely contrary to what the traditional monogamous relationship would be described as. BET talk show host, Monique has admitted to allowing her husband the option to be with other woman, if he desired to. She states that she prefers to know what her man is doing; because it's the inevitable that men will be attracted to other females and she prefers that her husband of 25 years, is open and honest about his feelings with her. Actor Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett have also admitted to having an open relationship, and they describe it as having a "free ticket", which would allow either of them one chance to step outside the marriage to be with someone else. To some that may be a detrimental move, because what happens if your partner is not satisfied with only one night? What if they start to develop feelings for the other person? What if they start to desire the other person more then their mate? This is why, I don't believe that it is a good thing to teach contrary beliefs to our society. What's the difference from a wife or husband having an affair? Is it worse because they didn't tell their wife or husband? We've been exposed to so many public affairs within the last couple years, like Tiger Woods, Jesse James and numerous American politicians. Regarding the topic of open relationships; there has been a lot of negative backlash on these views, but Monique and these other couples who have been successfully married for a number of years, say that this so-called 'openness' is what has brought success to their relationship. I personally could never see myself accepting that concept into my own personal relationship. I agree with openness and communication but, marriage is a spiritual commitment between two individuals. It is a commitment of fidelity and respect. I guess nowadays....people are doing what works for them. But, this new concept of marriage and relationships is definitely setting a contradicting tone towards what conventional relationship values are and think about it, If your partner wants to be with someone else......How deep is their love for you?
The most recent case of husband stealing, surrounds multi-talented, Alicia Keys. Who was always looked at as a good, down-to earth humanitarian who had nothing but, good things to offer to her fans and the public. Alicia was one that rarely had any bad publicity for most of her career until this "Superwoman" had "Fallin" into some "Unbreakable" love in the "Streets of New York" and now has done the "Unthinkable". Things have now seemed to simmer down, between Alicia's fiancee, Swizz Beats and his now ex- wife, Mashonda. But, Alicia is now being labelled the other woman or even worse a homewrecker. The story that both Alicia and her fiancee are sticking to is that the relationship between Swizz and Mashonda, had already ended when Alicia entered the equation. There are a lot of different opinions on the situation but, if Swizz clearly stated that the marriage was over and he and Mashonda were separated; is he not allowed to meet other people? Usually, that is exactly what happens when someone leaves a failed relationship. They go out and start dating again. Ultimately it is his decision to make if he wants to start dating or not. Is it really infidelity at that point? Now that I think about it, as long as the divorce papers are not final you still are technically married. In Hollywood, there has been some highly publicized spouse swapping, like Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott, who were still married to other people, when they selfishly decided to get engaged. Also, country singer LeAnne Rimes and CSI Miami's Eddie Cibrian also had an affair and then divorced their partners for each other. They are currently no longer together.These people clearly are classic examples of what insensitivity is and they are simply spoiled and expect to get what they want no matter who they hurt. Let's just hope for these couple's that they don't suddenly get another urge to swap out wives or husbands for new ones.

Oprah Winfrey, again tops the Forbes celebrity 100 list with $315 million as her earnings for 2009, her runner up was superstar Beyonce Knowles who managed to rack in $87 million for last year. Both women are definitely doing great things but, in different ways. Oprah has managed to build her empire by being able to create a persona for herself which relates to the entire world. Her level of influence and stature is one that is not easily acquired. She has gained worldwide trust and she is a golden ticket for endorsements. Oprah, never ceases to amaze me and even with her show approaching it's end. I know that she will not be going anywhere out of sight.
NBA star Carmelo Anthony and his beautiful fiancee, LaLa Vasquez have finally decided to end their 5 year engagement and take the plunge. I guess, they really wanted to make sure that they were both ready to stay committed to each other forever. They are planning a very extravagant affair with the guest list at about 250 - 300 people. The guest list will have a mix of athletes and celebrities of course, along with Lala's besties, Kim Kardashian and Solange Knowles. Well it sure is great to see black love and I am glad to see that men are starting to not shy away from the thought of lifetime commitment. All the best you two!

The photo of Nahla above, giving the photographers a screw face is classic. It's clear that even she has lost her patience with the paparazzi. Celebrity children are exposed to a different type of lifestyle that normal children (meaning children without famous or public figure parents) don't experience. This life includes, photographers, fans, and the constant spotlight. So, it is very important for celebrity parents to try to make life a grounded and solid one for their kids, to ensure that they grow-up as complete well-rounded people.
Super Model Naomi Campbell who is known for her radiant beauty was caught on camera, in a not so flattering shot showing, the effects of excessively wearing too many wigs or lace front wigs. Naomi's receding hairline can be due to a number of things, but many say that wearing certain wigs or more commonly using lace front wig glues, can cause balding and the hair to fall out. Ladies, please be sure that the glue used to apply your lace front does not include any harsh ingredients that will damage your hair. Yikes!
The question at hand is.....Can you really have true friendship with an Ex. Your relationship obviously fell apart for some reason....but, in your heart you don't want to lose this person. Maybe, it's the fact that your secretly still in love with them or you still can't accept the fact that this person will no longer be apart of your life anymore. After a not-so-bad breakup, there is usually a gray area as to where to go from here; which is usually an option between never seeing or hearing from them again or trying to develop some type of non intimate relationship. It's even more complicated for couples that were friends before dating. Making the decision to become friends after dating can also turn into a very negative experience, depending on either persons intentions. The opportunity to take advantage of the other person may exist, especially if the person was heartbroken after being dumped. They can become very vulnerable and risk the chance of the other person requesting friendship in order to not be obligated as a girlfriend or boyfriend but, still wanting to use the other person in their vulnerable state. Listen, if you feel like your Ex is stringing you along or playing mind games, you need to end the so-called friendship. There should never be an in-between status of your relationship, unless you both are okay with that. I believe that friendship after a break-up is possible as long as you are willing to be completely okay with things that friends would share with each other. That would include, hearing details on the other persons new love life, accepting that once your Ex finds someone new their time will be occupied with that person, knowing your boundaries, changing your expectations and not living in the past. If these things are recognized and you can accept it, then friendship is definitely an option. But, If you secretly still have feelings for the other person, it can be a very hurtful and confusing experience to go through and you may just be hurting yourself in the long run. Try your best to be honest with yourself and your Ex and if you can mutually handle the new status of friendship....then all the best to you and your new friend!
